With a love for Northwest Louisiana, a thirst for unique beers, fresh food, and a devotion to the Bossier community, we are always working to bring you innovative brews and pizzas in an exciting atmosphere. Our desire is to push our craft to the limit. We started out as a small home brew group, and we will never forget our roots. Hot summer days slaving away in an under-ventilated basement to create batches of beer large enough to quench the palates of ourselves, family, and friends drove us to create a distinctive craft brand and fulfill our dream of opening a brewery in the Ark-La-Tex. We still have just as much fun brewing today as we did on day one.
The decision to open our brewery was an easy one, but the work that went into making it a reality was a bit more tedious. We practically had to become accountants, lawyers, and venture capitalists overnight. And instead of just brewing for our friends and family, we now have an extended family of customers to care for. If any part of the process was easy, it was the decision to purchase our location at Historic Fire Station Number 6 in Old Downtown Bossier. It really was a no-brainer. We fell in love with the history, the industrial feel, and the layout. Now when you come to our tasting room, you'll feel right at home. With friendly faces and beers that are sure to please any taste buds, we are proud to be building a legacy that all of us in Bossier City and Shreveport can call our own.
Adding our pizza kitchen and full bar at the beginning of 2018 were also easy decisions for us. We can now welcome all ages, plus cater to even more palates and new friends. Our pizza is hand-crafted with the finest ingredients, just like our brews.
The best way to see just how passionate we are about good beer, unique pizza, and Northwest Louisiana is to come see for yourself. It's the perfect option for date night, ladies' night, or any night. There is always something happening at Flying Heart Brewing & Pub and it's always a party. We can't wait to welcome you into the Flying Heart family and excited for what the future holds. So let's all raise a glass to craft beer, craft pizza, craft cocktails, and community!
Flying Heart is more than a name. It's a story. The story begins when Ben Hart's dad and brothers formed the Flying Hart go-kart racing team (a play on their last name). After the team retired, the family started a cattle ranch in Washington State and
naturally named it Flying Hart Ranch. Ben's grandfather designed the original cattle brand, a simple heart and wing design, that is proudly displayed in the Flying Heart Brewing tasting room.
After much deliberation and many terrible ideas for brewery names, Ben Hart walked into a Brew Club meeting with the family design and asked Ben and Elizabeth Pattillo for their thoughts. Both were immediately drawn to the design and after hearing the backstory, they were sold on adopting the name of the Flying Heart.
